WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Educators, families, providers, all stakeholders
OVERVIEW: The fear of going to work is tied to the misconception that working means a loss or reduction of Social Security and other state and local benefits. Come learn about benefits counseling and how this service can address those fears. Certified benefits counselors provide truly informed choice by talking about how work interacts with benefits, how youth transition through age 18, and how choosing work can expand your possibilities.
The Colorado Office of Employment First in collaboration with the Department of Education and Division of Vocational Rehabilitation has developed a series of educational brochures and webinars for educators, families, and youth to learn about the basics of transition planning and ensuring employment is a part of that process. Melanie Honsbruch, COEF Curriculum Developer and Trainer, will lead this webinar — Benefits Counseling: Unlock Your Potential — which represents the fourth brochure in this series. Attend the webinar scheduled for February 24, 2021, 12:00-1:30pm MST.
